Jing-fei Dong MD, PhD

Bloodworks Research Institute and University of Washington Professor of Medicine

Jing-fei Dong, MD, PhD, is a member of the Bloodworks Research Institute (formerly known as the Puget Sound Blood Center) and a professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology & Oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed clinical neurosurgery training at Tianjin Medical University in China and the University of Birmingham in the UK through a combined clinical neurosurgery fellowship. For research training, he studied neurobiology at the University of Birmingham in the UK and hemostasis and thrombosis at the Gladstone Institutes of Cardiovascular diseases, the University of California San Francisco, and Baylor College of Medicine. His research focuses on bleeding and thrombotic complications of non-hematological disorders, including traumatic brain injury. He is particularly interested in studying the mechanisms by which traumatic brain injury induces a cerebral and systemic hypercoagulable state, leading to coagulopathy and endotheliopathy.
