Program Manager, Regenerative Medicine and Wound Management Combat
Casualty Care Research Program (CCCRP)

As Program Manager under the Combat Casualty Care Portfolio, Dr. Ojeda oversees the Regenerative Medicine and Wound Management program within the Defense Health Agency, with a focus on bringing cutting-edge medical solutions closer to the battlefield to improve the care and outcomes of wounded warfighters. To achieve this goal, Dr. Ojeda funds innovative research initiatives, including the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine (AFIRM), a consortium that develops and translates regenerative medicine technologies into clinical practice. AFIRM’s research scope is broad, encompassing cellular therapies for trauma, tissue engineering solutions for bone, muscle, and nerve gaps, and other advanced technologies to address the complex injuries sustained in combat. By supporting the development and deployment of these innovative solutions, Dr. Ojeda aims to enhance the military’s ability to provide effective and timely care to wounded personnel, ultimately improving their chances of recovery and return to duty.
